Rosalind Chao is an American actress of Chinese descent who gained prominence for her role as Soon-Lee Klinger in the series AfterMASH. She began her acting career at the age of five in a Peking opera company and later starred as Keiko O'Brien in both Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Chao's film credits include significant roles in The Joy Luck Club (1993), Mulan (2020), and Just Like Heaven (2005). She has also appeared in various television series such as The O.C., Diff'rent Strokes, and Hawaii Five-O. In 2019, she was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
