Ronald Pickup is an English actor who portrayed Aslan in the BBC adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia. He began his television career in 1964 with an episode of Doctor Who and has since appeared in various notable productions, including Zulu Dawn (1979), Nijinsky (1980), and the BBC miniseries The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (1988). Pickup's stage work includes a nomination for a Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for his role in Amy's View. He also starred as composer Giuseppe Verdi in The Life of Verdi and played a significant role in the BBC series Fortunes of War. His film credits include a supporting role in Darkest Hour (2017).
