Roger Waters is an English musician and composer who was a founding member of the rock band Pink Floyd. He served as the band's bassist and co-lead vocalist, later becoming the principal songwriter and conceptual leader after Syd Barrett's departure in 1968. Pink Floyd achieved global success in the 1970s with landmark albums such as The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, and The Wall. Waters left the band in 1985 due to creative differences and later engaged in a legal dispute with the remaining members, which was resolved in 1987. His solo work includes albums like The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking (1984) and Radio K.A.O.S. (1987). He worked on the soundtrack of When the Wind Blows (1986) and staged the monumental concert The Wall – Live in Berlin in 1990. Waters was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in both the US and UK as a member of Pink Floyd.
