Robin Williams was an American actor and comedian who gained prominence for his role as Mork in the sitcom Mork & Mindy (1978–1982). He made his film debut in Popeye (1980) and went on to receive an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Good Will Hunting (1997). Williams starred in notable films such as Dead Poets Society (1989), Awakenings (1990), and Insomnia (2002). He also lent his voice to the character of Genie in Aladdin (1992).
