Robert Stack is a multilingual American actor who earned an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Written on the Wind (1957). He began his Hollywood career at the age of 20 and appeared in over 40 films, including The High and the Mighty (1954) and BASEketball (1998). Stack portrayed Eliot Ness in the television series The Untouchables (1959–1963), which won him an Emmy Award for Best Actor in 1960. He also hosted the long-running series Unsolved Mysteries from 1987 to 2002. Stack's career spanned both film and television.
