Robert MacNaughton is an American actor who won a Young Artist Award for his performance as Michael, Elliott's brother, in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982). He portrayed Adam Farmer in I Am the Cheese, adapted from Robert Cormier's novel. MacNaughton has a strong theater background, having worked with the Circle Repertory Company and originating the role of Buddy Layman in Jim Leonard's The Diviners. His stage credits include performances in Henry V at the New York Shakespeare Festival and Master Harold at South Coast Repertory. In addition to his film work, he has appeared in television productions such as Newhart and Vietnam War Story. MacNaughton received a Young Artist Award for his role in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.
