Robert Downey Jr. is an American actor whose films as a leading actor have grossed over $14.3 billion worldwide, ranking him among the highest-grossing actors ever. He made his acting debut at the age of five in his father Robert Downey Sr.'s film Pound (1970). Downey gained prominence with the Brat Pack films Weird Science (1985) and Less than Zero (1987), and his portrayal of Charlie Chaplin in Chaplin (1992) earned him a BAFTA Award and an Academy Award nomination.
