Rip Torn is an American actor who received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Cross Creek (1983). His extensive career includes notable roles such as Zed in the Men in Black series (1997-2002) and Patches O'Houlihan in Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004). Torn's work on The Larry Sanders Show as Artie earned him six Emmy nominations, culminating in a win in 1996. He also won an American Comedy Award and two CableACE Awards for his work on the series. Among his film credits are Hercules (1997), Nadine (1987), and The Almost Perfect Bank Robbery (1999).
