Richard Jenkins is an American actor who made his film debut in 1974. He gained significant recognition for his portrayal of Nathaniel Fisher in the HBO series Six Feet Under (2001–2005). Jenkins has appeared in numerous films, including Burn After Reading (2008), Step Brothers (2008), and The Visitor (2007), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. His performance in The Shape of Water (2017) earned him nominations for the Academy Award, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Supporting Actor. Jenkins won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie for Olive Kitteridge (2014).
