Richard Chaves is an American character actor who gained prominence for his role as Poncho in the science fiction film Predator (1987). He began his acting career in the early 1980s, taking on various roles in soap operas before transitioning to film. Following his performance in Predator, Chaves starred as Lt. Colonel Ironhorse in the television series War of the Worlds. He once noted that the amount of fan mail he received surpassed that of his co-stars by a significant margin. Chaves has also appeared in various other productions throughout his career.
