Richard Brooks is an American actor who played Jubal Early in the space-western series Firefly. He portrayed assistant district attorney Paul Robinette in the NBC drama series Law & Order from 1990 to 1993, later returning as a defense attorney. Additionally, he starred as Patrick Patterson in the BET drama series Being Mary Jane. Brooks appeared in the film The Substitute in 1996. His career includes acting, singing, and directing.
