Richard Briers is an English actor who played George Starling in the television series Marriage Lines (1961–66). His career spanned over fifty years, during which he performed in various mediums including television, stage, film, and radio. Briers portrayed Tom Good in the BBC sitcom The Good Life (1975–78) and later starred as Martin in Ever Decreasing Circles (1984–89). He also played Hector in Monarch of the Glen (2000–05) and took on Shakespearean roles in productions directed by Kenneth Branagh, including Henry V (1989) and Hamlet (1996). Briers appeared in Peter Pan (2003).
