Ranjit Chowdhry was an Indian character actor who starred in the film Lonely in America (1990), which marked his early work in English-language cinema. He gained recognition for his performances in Hindi comedies before relocating to the United States in the 1980s. Chowdhry appeared in several notable films, including Mississippi Masala (1991), It Could Happen to You (1994), and Last Holiday (2006). He also had a memorable role as Vikram in two episodes of The Office. Chowdhry was an actor and a writer for the film Sam & Me (1991).
