Quvenzhané Wallis is an American actress who starred as Hushpuppy in Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012), earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress, making her the youngest nominee in that category. She appeared in 12 Years a Slave (2013) and played Annie Bennett in the 2014 adaptation of Annie, which garnered her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical. Wallis also voiced Harper in Trolls (2016) and portrayed Kyra in the sitcom Black-ish (2019). In addition to her acting career, she has authored four children's books, including Shai & Emmie Star in Break an Egg!
