Quinta Brunson is an American actress, comedian, writer, and producer who created and stars as Janine Teagues in the ABC comedy series Abbott Elementary (2021–present). She gained attention for her self-produced Instagram series Girl Who Has Never Been on a Nice Date and has worked with BuzzFeed Video, producing and acting in various projects. Brunson has appeared in the series iZombie, Single Parents, and Miracle Workers, and lent her voice to Lazor Wulf and Magical Girl Friendship Squad. She made history at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards as the first Black woman nominated three times in the comedy category, winning for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. Brunson also received a Peabody Award in 2022 for her work on Abbott Elementary.
