Pooya Mohseni is the first Middle Eastern trans actor to portray a judge on a prime time procedural. She is an Iranian American actress, writer, filmmaker, and transgender activist who moved to New York in her teens, where she developed her passion for acting and storytelling. Mohseni has appeared in various television shows, including Law and Order: SVU, Falling Water, and Madam Secretary. Her notable film credits include the lead role in Mari Walker's See You Then (2022) and a role in Terrifier (2018). A graduate of the Maggie Flanigan Studio, she is fluent in Persian/Farsi and advocates for immigrant and women's issues, as well as writing original LGBT stories.
