Pierre Coffin is a French animator and director who co-directed the feature CGI animated film Despicable Me in 2010. He trained at Gobelins in Paris and began his career at Amblimation, contributing to We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story. Coffin worked as a freelance animator at Ex Machina, where he progressed to animation supervisor and director. His collaboration with Passion Pictures Paris and Mac Guff led to the creation of the Minions franchise, which includes titles such as Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022) and Despicable Me 4 (2024). He also provided voices for minor characters in his films.
