Phil Avalon is an Australian producer, director, writer, and actor who gave Mel Gibson his first break in Summer City (1977). A former surfing champion and male model, Avalon served in the Army Air Wing and was a contestant on the original series of Blind Date. He made his directorial debut with Liquid Bridge in 2003.
