Philippe Noiret is a French actor who made his screen debut in an uncredited role in Gigi (1949). He gained prominence in the French film industry with significant performances in films such as La Pointe Courte (1955), Zazie dans le Métro (1960), and A Matter of Resistance (1966). Noiret became a star with his role in Alexandre le Bienheureux, and he took on controversial roles, including in La Grande Bouffe (1973) and J'embrasse pas (1991). He received his first César Award for his performance in The Old Gun (1975), followed by a second César for Life and Nothing But (1990).
