Phil Tan is a Singaporean actor and fight choreographer who made his film debut in Le complot diabolique du docteur Fu Manchu (1980). Initially a gymnast and a champion in British Tae Kwon Do, he transitioned into the film industry, working as an actor and trainer on Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan (1984). Tan was later recruited by Steven Spielberg to train Jonathan Ke Quan for Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984). His career in stunts began with his membership in The British Stunt Register in 1986. In addition to acting, he has worked as a 2nd Unit Director and stunt coordinator on major Hollywood productions, including Big Momma's House (2000).
