Peter O'Toole is a British-Irish actor who made his film debut in 1959. He gained worldwide fame for his portrayal of T. E. Lawrence in Lawrence of Arabia (1962), earning his first Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. O'Toole received a total of eight Oscar nominations throughout his career, holding the record for the most nominations without a win, a tie with Glenn Close. His notable performances include roles in Becket (1964), The Lion in Winter (1968), and Venus (2006), as well as a voice role in Pixar's Ratatouille (2007). He also appeared in Troy (2004). In 2002, he was honored with an Academy Honorary Award.
