Peter MacNicol is an American actor who received a Theatre World Award for his Broadway debut in Crimes of the Heart (1981). His film career includes notable roles such as Stingo in Sophie's Choice (1982), Galen in Dragonslayer (1981), and Janosz Poha in Ghostbusters II (1989). He portrayed camp counselor Gary Granger in Addams Family Values (1993) and David Langley in Bean (1997). MacNicol gained significant recognition for his role as John Cage in the television series Ally McBeal (1997–2002), earning a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 2001. He has also appeared in other series like 24 (2001) and Veep (2012-2019).
