Pete Postlethwaite was an English actor who gained prominence with his role in the film Distant Voices, Still Lives (1988). He portrayed the enigmatic lawyer Mr. Kobayashi in The Usual Suspects (1995) and appeared in notable films such as The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), Inception (2010), and The Constant Gardener (2005). His television work includes a memorable performance as Sergeant Obadiah Hakeswill in the Sharpe series alongside Sean Bean. Postlethwaite received an Academy Award nomination for his performance in In the Name of the Father (1993) and was honored as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2004. Steven Spielberg referred to him as 'the best actor in the world' after their collaboration on The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
