Pete Docter is an American filmmaker and animator who has directed several animated films, including Monsters, Inc. (2001) and Up (2009). He has served as Pixar's chief creative officer since 2018 and is a three-time recipient of the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature for his work on Up, Inside Out (2015), and Soul (2020). Docter has received six Annie Awards and a BAFTA Children's Film Award. His other notable projects include WALL·E (2008) and Beyond Infinity: Buzz and the Journey to Lightyear (2022).
