Penn Badgley is an American actor who portrayed Dan Humphrey in the teen drama series Gossip Girl (2007–2012). He gained early recognition for his role as Phillip Chancellor IV on the soap opera The Young and the Restless (2000–2001), which earned him a Young Artist Award nomination. Badgley has appeared in various films including the teen comedy-drama Easy A (2010) and the financial thriller Margin Call (2011), for which he received an Independent Spirit Award. Other notable works include The Stepfather (2009) and Greetings from Tim Buckley (2012). He plays Joe Goldberg in the Netflix series You (2018–2025).
