Paul Winfield is an American actor who portrayed a Louisiana sharecropper in the landmark film Sounder (1972), earning an Academy Award nomination for his performance. He also played Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in the television miniseries King, which garnered him an Emmy Award nomination.
