Paul Reubens is an American actor and comedian who created the character Pee-wee Herman. He began his career in the 1970s as a member of The Groundlings, an improvisational comedy troupe. Reubens gained fame with the television show The Pee-wee Herman Show, which aired in 1982 and led to the successful film Pee-wee's Big Adventure in 1985, directed by Tim Burton. He also starred in the CBS series Pee-wee's Playhouse from 1986 to 1990. Reubens appeared in films such as Matilda (1996) and Blow (2001). His work as Pee-wee Herman left a lasting impact on comedy and children's entertainment.
