Patti LaBelle is an American singer and actress who gained prominence in the 1960s as the lead vocalist of Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles. The group, later known as Labelle, is celebrated for the disco classic "Lady Marmalade," which received induction into the Grammy Hall of Fame. LaBelle achieved solo success beginning in 1984, with hits such as "If Only You Knew" and "New Attitude." In addition to her music career, she appeared in the film "Sing" (1989).
