Paapa Essiedu is a British actor who made his feature film debut in Kenneth Branagh's Murder on the Orient Express (2017). He began his career with the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2012, performing in productions such as The Merry Wives of Windsor and Hamlet. Essiedu gained significant recognition for his role in BBC One's I May Destroy You (2020), which earned him nominations for both a Primetime Emmy Award and a British Academy Television Award. He has appeared in several notable projects, including the historical drama Anne Boleyn (2021), the action series Gangs of London (2020–2022), and the science fiction series The Lazarus Project (2020–2023). His recent works include the fantasy film Genie (2023) and the drama The Outrun (2024).
