Orson Welles is an American film director who directed the landmark film Citizen Kane (1941). His innovative approach to filmmaking included nonlinear narratives, unique camera angles, and deep focus shots. Welles gained early fame as the director and narrator of the radio adaptation of H. G. Wells's The War of the Worlds in 1938, which created a significant public reaction. His notable works include The Magnificent Ambersons (1942), The Lady from Shanghai (1947), Touch of Evil (1958), and F for Fake (1974). He also starred in Casino Royale (1967).
