Norm Macdonald was a Canadian stand-up comedian, writer, and actor. He began his career writing for the sitcom Roseanne and made guest appearances on The Drew Carey Show and NewsRadio. Macdonald was a cast member of Saturday Night Live for five years, where he anchored the Weekend Update segment for three seasons. He starred in the 1998 film Dirty Work and created his own sitcom, The Norm Show, which aired from 1999 to 2001. In addition to his work in live-action, he lent his voice to various animated projects, including Klaus (2019). Macdonald was named #31 in Paste magazine's list of the 50 Best Stand-up Comics of All Time.
