Nirmal Purja is a Nepalese-British mountaineer who gained recognition for climbing all 14 eight-thousanders in just six months and six days. He served in the British Army with the Brigade of Gurkhas and later in the Special Boat Service. Purja was the first individual to summit Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu within a 48-hour timeframe. His notable achievements include the first winter ascent of K2 in 2021 with a team of nine other Nepalese climbers. He is featured in the documentary '14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible' (2021). Purja is regarded as one of the greatest mountaineers in history.
