Nina Hoss is a German actress who gained prominence for her role as Rosemarie Nitribitt in A Girl Called Rosemary (1996). She began her acting career at a young age, performing in radio plays at seven and on stage at fourteen. Hoss graduated from the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin in 1997. Her collaboration with director Christian Petzold has led to significant acclaim, including the Silver Bear for Best Actress at the Berlin International Film Festival for her performance in Yella (2007). She has also appeared in TÁR (2022) and Shadowplay (2020). Hoss won the Adolf Grimme Award in 2003 for Something to Remind Me and again in Gold in 2005 for Wolfsburg.
