Nilambur Ayisha

Nilambur Ayisha is an Indian actress who made her film debut in the Malayalam cinema with Kandam Becha Kottu in 1961, the first color film in the language. She began her career as a theatre artist before transitioning to films, where she became a supporting actress during the late 1960s and 1970s, appearing in over 50 movies. Her efforts against the constraints of Muslim orthodoxy opened doors for many other Muslim women in the arts, including actress Zeenath. Ayisha appeared in Mamangam in 2019.
