Nigel Planer is a British actor who played Neil in the BBC comedy The Young Ones. He has worked as a comedian, musician, novelist, and playwright. Planer has been part of numerous West End musicals, featuring in original casts of productions such as Evita, Chicago, We Will Rock You, Wicked, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. He also portrayed Ralph Filthy in Filthy Rich & Catflap and appeared in the film Flood (2007).
