Nick Sandow is an American character actor who portrayed Joe Caputo in the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black (2013–2019). He began his career with a debut in a 1992 episode of Law & Order and has appeared in films such as Grind (1997), A Brooklyn State of Mind (1998), and Return to Paradise (1998). Sandow also directed the immigrant drama Ponies in 2011 and received a News and Documentary Emmy Awards nomination in 2017 for producing Time: The Kalief Browder Story. He has been recognized with three Screen Actors Guild Awards for his ensemble work on Orange Is the New Black. Sandow also directed and acted in The Wannabe (2015).
