Nia Vardalos is a Canadian-American actress and screenwriter who gained prominence with her role in the 2002 film My Big Fat Greek Wedding. This film earned her nominations for both the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Comedy or Musical. Vardalos has also appeared in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 and the television series My Big Fat Greek Life. Her film credits include Connie and Carla, My Life in Ruins, I Hate Valentine's Day, and Helicopter Mom. She has made guest appearances on TV shows such as Team Knight Rider and Graves. Vardalos hosted The Great American Baking Show alongside her former husband, Ian Gómez.
