Neer Bikram Shah, also known as Nir Shah, is a prominent Nepalese filmmaker who directed the Oscar-nominated film Himalaya – l'enfance d'un chef, also known as Caravan. He emerged as a significant figure in Nepali cinema during the 1980s. His directorial works include Basudev, Pachchis Basanta, and Basanti, as well as the notable Nepal Bhasa film Rajamati. As an actor, Shah appeared in films such as Kusume Rumal, Prem Pinda, and Balidan, and he has also appeared in the popular Chhakka Panja series. He founded and served as the first head of Nepal Television, the country's first television station. Shah directed The Man from Kathmandu in 2019.
