Murray Hamilton was an American actor who portrayed Mayor Larry Vaughn in the 1975 thriller Jaws. He also appeared in its sequel, Jaws 2 (1978), and had a notable role in the comedy 1941 (1979). Hamilton's career spanned over 70 films and television series, with significant performances in The Graduate (1967) as Mr. Robinson and The Hustler (1961) as Findley. He often played dramatic roles, but also ventured into comedy, including a part in No Time for Sergeants (1958). Hamilton's final role was intended to be in Jaws: The Revenge, but he passed away before production began.
