Mo'Nique is an American comedienne and actress who gained prominence through her role in the UPN series The Parkers. She made her film debut in Phat Girlz and has appeared in notable films such as Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins and Precious: Based on the Novel "Push" by Sapphire, for which she received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Mo'Nique has also won a Golden Globe Award, a BAFTA Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award for her performance in Precious. Additionally, she hosted The Mo'Nique Show, a late-night talk show that started in 2009 on BET. Mo'Nique is recognized as the twelfth African American to win an Oscar for acting.
