Molly Ringwald is an American actress who made her film debut as Miranda in the independent movie Tempest (1982), earning a Golden Globe nomination for New Star of the Year. She gained prominence through her collaborations with director John Hughes, featuring in films such as Sixteen Candles (1984), The Breakfast Club (1985), and Pretty in Pink (1986).
