In addition to his acting career, he works as a management trainer. Mohan Raman is the eldest son of lawyer and politician V. P. Raman and has a daughter, Vidyullekha Raman, who debuted in Neethane En Ponvasantham. He also has familial connections to P. S. Raman, the former Advocate-General of Tamil Nadu.
