Milton Gonçalves was a Brazilian actor, director, singer, voice actor, and producer who began his career in an amateur group in São Paulo. He became one of Brazil's most prominent black actors and worked closely with director Hector Babenco on two occasions. His notable film appearances include roles in 'Pelé: Birth of a Legend' (2016) and various stage productions. Gonçalves was also an activist for the Black Movement and ventured into politics in the 1990s, running for the governorship of Rio de Janeiro. He was the father of actor Maurício Gonçalves and married to Oda Gonçalves since 1966.
