Mike O'Malley is an American actor and writer who hosted the children's game show Nickelodeon Guts in the early 1990s. He gained prominence for his portrayal of Jimmy Hughes on the CBS sitcom Yes, Dear, which aired from 2000 to 2006. O'Malley has appeared in various films, including Concussion (2015), 28 Days, and Eat, Pray, Love. His television credits feature guest roles in series such as My Name Is Earl, Parenthood, and Parks and Recreation. In addition to acting, he is a published playwright and served as a writer for Showtime's Shameless. O'Malley received an Emmy nomination for his role as Burt Hummel on Glee.
