Michael Gwynn was an English actor who portrayed Lord Melbury in the BBC comedy Fawlty Towers (1975). He served as a Major during the Second World War in East Africa, where he was the Adjutant to the 2nd Nyasaland Battalion, Kings African Rifles. Gwynn's film credits include The Camp on Blood Island (1958), and he also featured in several Caedmon Records adaptations, such as Cyrano de Bergerac and Julius Caesar, both starring Ralph Richardson. Gwynn passed away in London in 1976.
