Michael Gough was an English character actor who appeared in over 150 film and television productions. He played Alfred Pennyworth in the Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher Batman series, featuring in all four films. Gough's extensive career includes notable performances in 'Out of Africa' (1985), 'Batman' (1989), and 'Batman Forever' (1995). He gained prominence through his roles in the Hammer Horror Films starting in 1958.
