Metta Sandiford-Artest is a former professional basketball player who played 19 seasons in the NBA. He was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in 1999 and later signed with the Indiana Pacers, where he won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award and was named an NBA All-Star in 2004. Sandiford-Artest had notable stints with the Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets, and Los Angeles Lakers, winning a championship with the Lakers in 2010. He legally changed his name from Ron Artest to Metta World Peace in 2011 and later to Metta Sandiford-Artest in 2020. He appears in the documentary Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom (2026).
