Melaw Nakehk'o made her professional acting debut in The Revenant (2015). Raised in Liidlii Kue, she is a member of the Dehcho Dene and Denesuline peoples and comes from a lineage of tribal leaders. Melaw studied at the Institute of American Indian Arts, where she received a degree in 2D arts. She is dedicated to revitalizing traditional Indigenous artistic practices, particularly through the revival of moosehide tanning techniques. Additionally, she is a Founding Member of Dene Nahjo and teaches at the Dechinta Centre for Research and Learning.
