Mel Brooks is an American actor, comedian, filmmaker, and songwriter who won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for The Producers (1967). His career spans over seven decades, during which he gained prominence for directing notable comedy films such as Blazing Saddles (1974), Young Frankenstein (1974), and Spaceballs (1987). Brooks co-created the comedy sketch The 2000 Year Old Man and was a writer for Sid Caesar's Your Show of Shows. He received numerous accolades, including an EGOT, a Kennedy Center Honor, and a BAFTA Fellowship. His work includes Hotel Transylvania 2 (2015) and Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank (2022). In 2021, he published his memoir titled All About Me!.
