Mavis Staples is an American rhythm and blues and gospel singer who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999. She has performed with her family's group, The Staple Singers, and has also pursued a successful solo career, collaborating with artists such as Prince. She was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2017.
